JULY 2021 UPDATE:
Starting immediately, we ask that you provide us with proof of your vaccination status. We will not be using the honor system, as we absolutely need to provide the safest environment for all our students. Please send us a photo or screenshot of your vaccination card or NYS Excelsior pass when you register. If you're vaccinated, you can choose to wear or not wear a mask while at the studio.
This information can be sent to: email@example.com
If you are not vaccinated, that's ok, but we ask that you please let us know so we can make a note of it, and you must continue to keep your mask on while at the studio until you get vaccinated.
THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTION TO THIS & WE WILL PERMANENTLY BAN ANY STUDENT WHO DOES NOT COMPLY.
IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE A PHOTO/SCREENSHOT OF VACCINATION STATUS, WE WILL ASSUME YOU ARE NOT VACCINATED & YOU WILL BE ASKED TO KEEP A MASK ON AT ALL TIMES WHILE AT THE STUDIO!
THE SAFETY & HEALTH OF ALL OF US ARE PARAMOUNT!
ALL STUDIO ACTIVITIES MUST BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. PLEASE ONLY COME AT THE TIME YOU HAVE REGISTERED/BOOKED FOR, BE IT FOR CLASS OR WORKSHOP TIME.
We are continuing to clean and sanitize between classes, will keep hand sanitizer out in the studio, and continue to keep capacity levels reduced. We are no longer keeping a detailed contact tracing list & have done away with temperature checks.
The Potter's Wheel is a pottery teaching studio serving clients in the Kew Gardens area. Our studio is made up of a community of ceramic artists who are qualified to support and guide the novice, or who stimulate and collaborate with experienced artisans.
Adult sessions consist of seven three-hour long classes in hand building or wheel throwing over a two-month period. Additional workshops over the course of the year will touch on other methods and styles, which include raku, sculpture, and other glazing techniques, to name a few.
Whether you are an experienced potter or a complete novice, you will find that there are many techniques and methods when working with clay. The history of ceramics extends over 27,000 years of human civilization. We welcome all to come and join us in this enduring and creative endeavor. At The Potter's Wheel,we have instructed thousands of people like you in the ceramic arts for more than 40 years.
