UPDATED COVID-19 INFORMATION
UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE:
WE ASK THAT YOU NO LONGER WALK IN, CALL, OR EMAIL TO SEE ABOUT ANY AVAILABLE SPACE FOR YOU TO WORK. ACCORDINGLY, WE CAN'T HAVE ANY UNSCHEDULED OPEN STUDIO TIME DURING THE PANDEMIC.
ALL STUDIO ACTIVITIES MUST BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE, THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS
We have decided that, for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will no longer have 7 week sessions, but we will go month by month. The price will still break down to $53 per class. The amount of classes on any particular day of any particular month WILL VARY, so please fully read the schedule breakdown on each product page. We will continue to comply with all City & State regulations regarding the Covid-19 outbreak.
Our new schedule will follow the usual times/days that we have had in the past. Prices for enrolling have not changed, but workshop prices are now $5 per hour for all enrolled students. We have reduced the number of spots per class to 5 for wheel & 4 during hand building (same # of spots for workshop time as well)
Accordingly, we need to implement a new system for workshop time.
We ask that you now purchase that time on our site, you can do that HERE. That way, we can control the number of people entering the studio as we can not afford to have more than mandated by City/State Gov't.
We need to control the number of people entering the studio, so please ONLY COME at the times you have registered for, either for workshop time or your class time.
YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED STUDENT IN ANY CLASS GOING FORWARD TO USE ANY WORKSHOP TIME. IF YOU DO NOT SIGN UP, YOU CAN NOT UTILIZE WORKSHOP TIME.
We thank you for the continued support and understanding during these crazy times!
The Potter's Wheel is a pottery teaching studio serving clients in the Kew Gardens area. Our studio is made up of a community of ceramic artists who are qualified to support and guide the novice, or who stimulate and collaborate with experienced artisans.
Adult sessions consist of seven three-hour long classes in hand building or wheel throwing over a two-month period. Additional workshops over the course of the year will touch on other methods and styles, which include raku, sculpture, and other glazing techniques, to name a few.
Whether you are an experienced potter or a complete novice, you will find that there are many techniques and methods when working with clay. The history of ceramics extends over 27,000 years of human civilization. We welcome all to come and join us in this enduring and creative endeavor. At The Potter's Wheel,we have instructed thousands of people like you in the ceramic arts for more than 40 years.
