Pottery Wheel Classes for Beginners & Advanced Students

Beginner Wheel:
Classes cover the basics of creating ceramic forms on the wheel and glazing techniques. No experience required. This can be an excellent option for those with previous experience to review basic skills. Classes per session - 7; $350. includes clay and glazes; one-time firing fee of five cents per cubic inch apply.
Monday Mornings from 10am - 1pm
Tuesday Evenings from 7pm - 10pm
Saturday Afternoons from 2pm to 5pm


Intermediate Wheel:
Classes continue to develop basic skills and introduce concepts that include shaping, sets, pouring vessels, lidded vessels and closed forms. Classes per session - 7; $350. includes clay and glazes; one-time firing fee of five cents per cubic inch apply.
Wednesday Evenings from 7pm to 10pm


Advanced Wheel:
Sessions focus upon specific techniques and styles in ceramics history at the discretion of the instructor. Students are encouraged to explore their creative vision while improving their skill set. Classes per session - 7; $350. includes clay and glazes; one-time firing fee of five cents per cubic inch apply.
Thursday Evenings from 7pm to 10pm


Tools:
Students in the adult classes will require their own tools. A beginner kit is available for $20. We also have other tools and materials on hand for purchase.

 

 

 

Wheel - All Levels:
This class is ideal for adults with busy schedules, or those who enjoy working with a wider perspective instead of a more traditional cohesive student body. The relaxed atmosphere also provides some one-on-one instruction. No experience required. Wheel with Handbuilding:
While this course is strongly focused on handbuilding, this course offers the option for two methods of construction by incorporating wheel thrown shapes and altering them with hand-building techniques. Experience in wheel is required, however, previous handbuilding experience is not required. Classes per session - 7; $350. includes clay and glazes; one-time firing fee of five cents per cubic inch apply.

Policies:
All missed classes can be made up in another class with prior notice and approval, or during workshop times (without instruction) within the current session. No carry overs, please. No refunds. Thank you.
